Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs
provides services, for Kentucky residents birth to 21, through a variety of
specialty clinics held across the commonwealth. Covered conditions include:
Asthma (Severe), Burn, Cerebral Palsy Cleft Lip and Palate, Craniofacial, Cystic
Fibrosis, Ear, Eye, Hand, Heart, Hemophilia - Pediatric and Adult, Juvenile
Rheumatoid Arthritis, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Reconstructive
Surgery, Scoliosis, Seizure, Sickle Cell Education, and Spina Bifida. The
Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs manages the Newborn
Hearing Screening Program, which ensures that all newborns receive a hearing
screening before leaving the hospital.

Centers/Community Mental Health Centers
are all across the state. Your local center can assist you in locating and
accessing disability resources. Most have Early Childhood Mental Health
